Los Angeles has so much to offer both residents and visitors alike. So much to see and do; it’s no wonder it’s a hot spot for entertainment. One place you don’t want to miss visiting is the Petersen Automotive Museum. This gem sees hundreds of thousands of visitors each and every year.

Over 100,000 square feet, the Museum’s exhibits feature over 150 classic and rare cars, motorcycles and trucks. This non-profit is located on Wilshire Boulevard and admission is super affordable. Active military with ID and museum members get free admission.

Visitors recommend planning to spend a half a day here because there’s so much to see. The stories accompanying the automobiles are amazing and the knowledgeable staff really put the icing on the cake.
Prepare yourself to view some of the neatest vehicles (restored antiques) and those used in movies, as well as famous race cars and motorcycles. You will learn a lot of history about the vehicles thanks to the great, knowledgeable docents.

People come from near and far to take a peek at the collection in this Museum because it’s that great. Not to mention the architecture and exterior design that many visitors absolutely love. One of the favorite features of visiting this museum is the exclusive vault tour where you can see the batmobile, Lightning McQueen, and many other incredible finds. However, there are rules for taking the vault tour and one of those is that cameras are not allowed in the vault.

Something many may not think about but we feel is worth mentioning – wear comfortable shoes! You’re going to be walking around a lot so you want to make sure your feet can handle it. Tours are given at different hours so it’s best to visit the website to schedule your visit rather than stop in on a whim one day.

There is a restaurant, Drago Ristorante with Italian cuisine also if you get hungry during your visit. Choose from wood-fired pizza, handmade pasta and much more. You will also find two electric vehicle charging stations on the premises.

Is this a place to bring the kids? Sure! Many visitors boast how much fun their kids had visiting the Petersen Automotive Museum, even kids who didn’t show a special interest in vehicles had a great time here.

Don’t forget to visit the gift shop on your way out when you’re done touring the Museum so you can remember what a great time you had. If you want to make your adventure even better, try this local Observatory that’s sure to amaze all ages and this place can help fund your trip or outing.
